We’re undergoing initial site preparation work for Greenbank Shopping Centre’s refresh and expansion project.

These early stages involve tree clearing adjacent to the centre to prepare the site for future construction activities. Contractor engagement is currently being finalised, with works proposed to commence in the second week of January ongoing for two weeks.

These Economic Development Queensland (EDQ – the statutory authority for the project) approved activities will be completed with all required environmental, safety and fauna and flora protection measures in place.

The works will have minimal effect on the operation of the centre and adjacent properties. Vehicular and pedestrian access to the centre will not be affected, however some minor carpark cordoning may be implemented as an extra level of patron protection.

Upon completion of the clearing works, the project area will progress into further preparatory stages as part of the broader redevelopment. More information on the next stages will be provided as construction progresses.

Upcoming works and what to expect

• Work hours: Works will primarily occur Monday to Saturday, 6:30am–6:30pm.
• Local impact: You may notice contractors, machinery and noise associated with tree clearing. All activities will take place within designated work zones to maintain safety.
• Access and safety: Clearly marked exclusion areas and traffic management controls will be in place. Access to the centre will remain unaffected throughout.
• Traffic and parking: Minimal traffic and parking changes are anticipated. Minor traffic management may be implemented on Pub Lane where required, and a small section of carpark may be cordoned off for a short period of time. Any temporary changes will be clearly signposted.
• Noise and dust: Where necessary control measures will be implemented to minimise general disturbance to shoppers, tenants and adjacent properties.
• Environment and wildlife: All works will follow approved environmental management protocols throughout the clearing process.
